Here's some awesome news, announced via trailer on their newly updated website, it seems that Blur will be releasing a documentary film about their reunion from this past summer, titled No Distance Left To Run, after their song of the same name. The trailer says "In Cinemas January 2010," assuming that means in UK theaters, but perhaps other international theaters will get screenings as well... I hope.
To say the least, I'm pretty excited, but I'm just really hoping that there will be a way I can see this in America. The last documentary Damon Albarn did was Bananaz, which nicely documented the Gorillaz first two albums. I'm thinking this is a completely unrelated project, but it'd be really fantastic if this got the same online distribution that that film had. Because right now I'm kind of giddy over that trailer...
UPDATE: From an official release on the band's Facebook:
"A feature length documentary film telling the story of blur is due for cinema release on January 19th. “No Distance Left to Run” is directed by 32 (Dylan Southern & Will Lovelace) and is a Pulse Films production.
Filmed throughout the band’s 2009 rehearsals and acclaimed summer tour, No Distance Left To Run finds all four members of blur together for the first time in nine years. With previously unseen archive material alongside new interviews and reportage, the film recounts the highs and lows of a very British band from the late 80’s to their headline return at Glastonbury and Hyde Park. The result is a musing on Englishness and identity and a portrait of friendship and resolution. "
So the film is not just about the reunion, but about the band's entire career (which I hope doesn't just end here). But at least the title of the release says "NO DISTANCE LEFT TO RUN
OPENS IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE IN JANUARY 19TH 2010" Which pretty much means I thankfully should be able to find it playing somewhere in America come January.

Today marks the first day of both the Wii Shop Channel and the new Nintendo DSi Shop updating. This post will run like previous Wii Shop Channel updates, with me posting Nintendo's press release. However, due to length, I may revert back to me just listing the week's titles, without the huge descriptions, we'll see.

As with every year, today's Upfront conference brought a whole lot of news for Cartoon Network's future programming. And while, sadly, a lot of this new programming involves live action, and more garbage from the people behind Total Drama Island, there was one surprise that has got me super excited...

Up to four players can face off in any one of three multiplayer modes. “Fame Game,” the most straightforward choice, is similar to the one-player version. “Shame Game” turns the tables by forcing players to go for the lowest score. “Blame Game” is a free-for-all as everyone vies for blocks on one big grid. Choose from different block styles, background graphics and music to customize your playing experience.

New Star Trek trailer with Watchmen
Thanks to Paramount, I just got a pretty awesome heads up about the third trailer for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek:
"Announced today, a third trailer from Star Trek is planned to be in theaters starting on Friday, 3/6 with WATCHMEN.
The trailer, which features brand new footage will also be online on Apple.com Trailers in HD starting on the morning of 3/9 and thereafter on the official site and this webmaster program for direct download and streaming."
Pretty awesome news in my opinion, cause I plan to see Watchmen as soon as possible, no guarantees on premiere though. Though, I was promised a Watchmen trailer and the second Star Trek trailer when I went to see Quantum of Solace, but I sadly received neither. Let's hope things work out this time!

Along the way he'll encounter twisted versions of his school's faculty, which must be battled in order to advance. LIT is a horror/puzzle game that requires the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers. It contains 30 levels, five boss battles, replay modes and several unlockables, including multiple endings, Dark Mode timed challenges and an unlockable character.

Based on the popular arcade game, the SEGA GENESIS version of MERCS lets you play as a MERC and also adds an original mode, allowing players to choose from five different characters. Take no prisoners as you shoot, drive jeeps and tanks, and clash against huge bosses to accomplish your mission.

Loaded with replay value and featuring some of the best platform action ever, this title is not to be missed.

i + ! = Metal Gear Solid Touch
A Next Metal Gear Is ... an iPhone game. I mean, I can't say I saw this coming, but it certainly makes sense; the teaser page's URL had "MGST" in it, now standing for Metal Gear Solid Touch. And the little equation makes some sense too; "i" as in iPhone, "!" is very much an MGS associated symbol, but the power symbol and green font is still a mystery to me. Anyways, here are the first two screenshots:
P.S. That "A next Meat Gear is ..." teaser page now reads "METAL GEAR SOLID TOUCH" in the window header. Just in case you wanted another confirmation.
The game, which is set for Spring 2009 according to the press release, will take place in what seems to be during Metal Gear Solid 4:
"Metal Gear Solid Touch focuses on action elements of Hideo Kojima’s classic stealth series, and will see series veteran Solid Snake embark on an all-new mission. Using locations and characters introduced in Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid Touch initially offers eight action-packed stages, with more to be added at a later date. The new title gives the player control via the Apple systems’ touch panel, and also allows users to pan in and out of the action. Replay value is also enhanced via bonuses such as wallpapers and images that are attained by completing key elements within the game."
From the screens alone I will say the game seems to boast some graphical prowess, but I'd have to see it in motion first. But, being an open MGS fanboy, chances are I'm buying this regardless... I'm just more or less curious as to exactly how canon this title will be, and how open it will be to those that haven't played through MGS4.
Also announced along side MGST are Silent Hill: The Escape, and Frogger; but those titles didn't have cryptic teaser sites now did they?
