Here's a surprise, Nickelodeon, the Viacom branch known for its cartoon/kids programming channel has gone and purchased the rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And when I say that I don't just mean they got the broadcasting rights to the original animated series and the more recent 4Kids one...
No, they got the full deal. Broadcasting rights, development of a new CG-animated series set for 2012, development for a new feature film that would be released with Paramount, and they would also cut a nice cut of the merchandising, including the ever popular toy line. Star Trek comes to Burger King
In order to promote J.J. Abrams' new Star Trek film (in theaters Friday!) Paramount has joined with Burger King to, well, promote the hell out of it. First off is the usual bit, kid's meal toys. For Star Trek, they've decided to make 16 different super-deformed toys of various cast members, ships, and item, each making a sound when a button is pressed. I'm personally not a big fan of these designs, but what can I do? See them for your self at Club BK.
Next, as you can see from the BurgerKing.com screen-grab to the left, are a set of 4 collector's glasses. The four designs are Kirk, with the U.S.S. Enterprise; Nero with his Romulan ship; Spock with future Spock (Leonard Nimoy); and Uhura also with the U.S.S. Enterprise. Each will be available for $1.99 with the purchase of a value meal; but I'm sure you will be able to buy them separately if you do not wish to choose from Burger King's death-inducing menu.
It's not the first time collector's glasses have been given away at Burger King. In fact, many will remember that BK had glasses back when the original Star Wars films were out, and those probably can fetch you a pretty penny nowadays. Also in relation to Star Wars, those super deformed Star Trek toys available in the kid's meals, look an awful lot like the Star Wars toys released by Burger King just a few years ago.

You can't even tell me you don't see similarities. And I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan when Burger King revealed those puny Star Wars figures, I'm still not a fan when it's Star Trek. But hey, all you people who have been waiting to battle your super-deformed Star Wars toys with similarly designed, super-deformed Star Trek toys, now's your chance. Enjoy!

Bruce Campbell: Action Figure

"The fully articulated doll is formed from a 3-D scan of Campbell himself. Besides a custom fabric miniature version of his actual Hawaiian shirt, which was loaned to us by Mr. Campbell, proving that he's the kind of partner who would "give you the shirt off his back," an array of movie-specific accessories are included.
Two of these are miniature "angel" and "devil" versions of Mr. Campbell. They attach to his shoulders using hidden magnets. Additionally, we have
- Shemps Olde Tyme Whiskey- A Bruce collectible toy in melted package
- Refreshing Lemon Drink bottle- A miniature Chins book
- A big honkin' gun with price tag still attached"

LEGO Batman at McDonalds
I haven't eaten at McDonalds for quite some time, ok, when they had Cartoon Network toys was the last time I ate there, anyways ... For this month, McDonalds will be having 10 different LEGO Batman toys, to coincide with the release of the game; and being that there was no The Dark Knight tie-ins at restauraunts, or game, I guess this is the next best thing.
LEGO Batman at McDonalds
These are the "Boys" toys, for girls they have Madame Alexander: The Wizard of Oz ... but I don't need to cover that. My only complaint about the toys is that none of them are actually LEGOs ... really, was that too much to ask?

New LEGO Batman sets include The Dark Knight?
It very well seems that way, the four new Batman now available at LEGO.com each have The Dark Knight related packaging; including both the logo of the film (minus the its name) as well as artwork of Batman in a suit based upon the design in the movie. But what's even more interesting is the set below.

As you can see, not only is the packaging reminiscent on The Dark Knight, but the Batmobile used is The Tumber, an exclusive to the two new Batman films.

Upon closer look you can see the Batman mini-fig is also based upon The Dark Knight design. However the Joker's design is that of previous sets, and not Heath Ledger's Joker. And the thug is also not one of the Joker's "goons" from the film.

The other new sets available contain the same Batman mini-fig and package design, but do not relate to the film in any other way. I'm just curious to see if any of this transfers into the new LEGO Batman video game, as there is no The Dark Knight tie-in video game. It's not too far fetched when the game was the first to show the now available Harley-Quinn figure, and new shots of the game show off a non-available Clay-Face mini-fig.

LEGO News
Wait what? Yeah, if you don't know yet, i'm a LEGO fan, in fact i still get LEGO Magazine. And in my most recent issue that i got today, there was a few things that i felt could be of interest. I have linked each one to the Online Lego Store.
1. Looks like sets based of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be coming soon, i wonder if this will have any influence on the upcoming LEGO Indiana Jones video game? Also to note, there are no LEGO Nazis in the sets based on the original films, but the soldiers in the new sets do have CCCP on their vehicles. See the sets here!
2. A new LEGO Batman set will be including the Harley-Quinn figure that's featured in the video game. If you didn't know, there was no Harley-Quinn LEGO prior to the reveal in the game. Set not yet available.
3. Also news to me, new sets based upon the new Speed Racer movie. Not guaranteeing a video game tie-in here, considering there have been LEGO sets based on the first 2 Spiderman films, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Spongebob Squarepants, etc. Plus, what if the film flops? See the sets here!
No idea as to why there are literally no Batman sets on LEGO's website, but when its available i will update this post.

Nintendogs Merchendise
So, I was at the mall today with my friend, and decided to walk into Kay-Bee Toys, because I was bored and wanted to see how crappy the place had become. I looked around at the board games, and spotted the Brian Age board game, which is interesting, but I had seen it before so no biggy. I went through another aisle however, and spotted them....yes, them...Nintendog plushies. It came as a huge shock to me, but apparently they were legit, with the official Nintendo seal and everything.
There were two types, one semi-large and huggable, and another much smaller, that could fit in your hand.
The price for the larger was around $16, while the smaller were around $8. Also, the smaller ones had a voice-box, so you could pinch their wittle ears and hear them bark; cute. Also, they had Nintendogs written all over them, literally; on their collars and branded on their arses. Interesting to say the least.
