Green Lantern: First Flight trailer

Warner Bros. has released the debut trailer for the next DC Universe animated film, Green Lantern: First Flight, set for release on July 2st, 2009:

Looks promising, and has a style different from that of the previous DC Universe films. Let's just hope it can surpass the stellar Wonder Woman film, just as that topped the previous direct-to-disc movies.

That's quite possibly the second best looking Sinestro I have ever seen too (the first being in the works of Alex Ross, the god of Comic Art).

About time Hal gets some real recognition. John is great and all in the JL/JLU series, but does John ever go on to become Parallax who destroys the Green Latern Corp? No. Does John even become the new Spectre? No.

Yay for Hal! The best emerald knight ever!

By the by, Marvel just cannot seem to keep up with DC in the animated feature area. Though, Marvel seems to do a bit better in the live-action realm recently, their animated work is trash compared to the DC stuff. It's a sad, sad day when the best Marvel Animation is on Nickelodeon in the form of Wolverine and the X-men.

Can't say I am a huge fan of Marvel's recent animated works, especially their own direct-to-DVD stuff. Spectacular Spider-Man isnt bad though, I just never have the time to catch it.

You're doing yourself a favour if you miss Marvel's Ironman, Avengers and Hulk animated series. I remember better animation and quality in the late 70s/early 80s than the stuff they produce.

The DC Universe animation always has a great look to it, usually going for an Art Deco aesthetic. The only recent complaint I had was the Superman/Doomsday movie where Superman looked like he had botched plastic surgery.

I am still waiting to get Wonder Woman on Netflix. I was pleasantly surprised with Justice League: The New Frontier too.

Well Wonder Woman did get The Seal from me, so I hope you enjoy it once it comes up in your queue
