For his latest solo record, Scream, Cornell teamed up with hip-hop producer Timbaland. And really at this point, who hasn't worked with Timbaland? (see "Pork and Beans" - Weezer) But I'm sorry, this just isn't where Chris Cornell belongs. To understand, you can preview three of his songs with Timbaland at his MySpace; the songs are "Watch Out", "Ground Zero", and "Long Gone" which will be the first single off the album. According to Cornell himself, the album is intended to be heard as a whole, I'm not even sure if I can stand through that. His voice is just not meant for this hip-hop garbage. As the album is titled, Chris should be screaming, with a guitar, drums, and bass backing him; a real band. Cause right now, all this does is make me want to scream!
I'm not sure what's happened to Chris in recent years, but I really think he should get his act together and remember where he came from. He's like the Nintendo of music, and I don't want a music version of the E3 2008 conference...

Man that sucks. Pretty disappointing seeing as how much I like Audioslave and Soundgarden. This sounds way too much like something from the Backstreet Boys for me to feel comfortable.
You need to open your mind. Chris Cornell has evolved as an artist and I would asume as a person, which is what we are all supposed to do. He is a true "artist". He invents and expands with his ideas and visions. If Chris was the same ole same ole, there would be no talent, (we see a lot of this now in the music industry). Chris is the musical artist and voice, and I so glad he choses to share with us. Learn to appricate change.
I understand what you're trying to ay, but chris' voice just doesnt work for this material. in a way it's as if he's sold out.
I just want to hear Chris sing. In fact, I wish he would do a cd of Hymns, can you imagine him singing Amazing Grace!!!! Just want to hear his voice.
