Interesting note about WiiSpeak

Found this in Nintendo's E3 Press Release:

"Another new feature in Animal Crossing®: City Folk is the ability to visit friends' towns and chat with one another using the new WiiSpeak™ microphone. The WiiSpeak microphone is sold separately at an MSRP of $29.99 and allows Internet voice chat among Wii Friends – not just from person to person but from room to room."

It seems as if it is not going to be bundled with the game as most would expect. It's a decent price I think, considering the wireless Xbox 360 headset goes for $50, and the PS Eye (which can be used as a room mic) goes for $32. Though remember this is USB connected, and not wireless.

Considering that we already have handheld USB mics for Rock Band, Boogie, and even High School Musical; is the Wii Speak even that much of innovation to avoid a headset? ...At least we get plenty of wire....
