As previously posted, I saw The Dark Knight again. And yes I was able to see the previews before hand... about 10 to be precise. A lot of of crap movies in the works I must say. And there's one I really wish wasn't... The Spirit. The Spirit is the film adaptation of Will Eisner's comic series of the same name, and is being directed by the writer and illustrator of comics such as Sin City, 300, and The Dark Knight Returns, Frank Miller. This is Miller's first time directing solo, and as much as I wish it wasn't, this film looks bad. There's just something about bringing in modern tech to the 40's, and having Samuel L. Jackson playing a cross of George Clinton and a Nazi, that just makes the trailer leave a bad taste in my mouth. And if that's what the trailer does, and cannot imagine how the film will be...
On a better note, Watchmen looks even cooler on the big screen. But after starting to read the graphic novel, and recognizing some of the scenes, I really hope the movie keeps lines in tact. For instance, a line of Rorschach's journal reads, "... the whores and politicians will look up and shout, "Save Us!", and I'll look down and whisper, "No"". However, in the trailer he says, "... the world will look up and shout, "Save Us!" ... ". I mean, I guess it's not ok t say whores in a trailer, but I mean, really, just keep the line intact please.
And lastly, The Dark Knight, while it's an amazing film in theaters, it's just so much better in IMAX. And I'm not sure if it's because I've seen the film already, or whatever, but the movie seemed to move a little faster. Word is the IMAX version had extra scenes, to be honest, I didn't notice anything missing from the regular version, so I'd like to know what people are considering "extra". And finally, I was able to say after the credits, and I can confirm to you that there is nothing at the end of the credits, other than text reading "THE DARK KNIGHT". Yup, that's it!
