PS3 firmware 2.40 preview

Well, Sony has finally up and revealed the features for Playstation 3's 2.40 firmware, of which will introduce Trophies (think Achievements) and the in-game Cross Media Bar (XMB). Both videos comes via the Playstation.Blog.

The first titles to be using Trophies include:

• BUZZ! Quiz TV
• LittleBigPlanet
• MotorStorm Pacific Rift
• NBA 09 - PS3
• PAIN
• PixelJunk Eden
• Resistance 2
• SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation
• Warhawk

It should be noted that both Warhawk and PAIN are the only games that have already been released, therefore they will require an update before features can be accessed.

The firmware is set to launch on July 2nd, that's Wednesday!
